Junior Women of Initiative

With the help of the Community Foundation of Collier County (CFCC), the Boys & Girls Club (BGCC) kicked off the 2009 “Junior Women of Initiative” program.  On January 10th, members of CFCC Women of Initiative met with eleven young women from BGCC to begin the series for this year’s program.    The adult mentors will come together each month with their younger counterparts with the goal of enabling young women to develop tools for success in life and establish important relationships with respected women in the Naples community.

  

The junior members participated in a process that involved both essays and personal interviews before being selected to participate this year.  Their training will provide opportunities for them to participate in group discussions about decision making, goal setting, leadership, professional etiquette and more.  Importantly they will learn how to make positive choices to successfully cope with the challenges teens face on a daily basis.  We look forward to reporting on their progress.
